NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A 16-year-old accidentally shot himself during an alleged attempted robbery in north Nashville Tuesday night.
Police on the scene told News 2 the teenager called and reported he was shot at 16th Avenue and Underwood Street.
When authorities arrived, the victim was found one block down at Knowles Street and officers heard an exchange of gunfire.
Metro police told News 2 the victim was fighting with three friends when he pulled out a gun and shot himself before firing at the suspects.
The teen was hit twice and transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
According to police, the victim reported there were multiple suspects. Descriptions were not immediately available.
Further details have yet to be released.
The shooting remains under investigation.
