SEWANEE, Tenn (WATE) – The Tennessee-Georgia game was no doubt a nail-biter.
Tennessee won in the final seconds of the game when Josh Dobbs threw a Hail Mary to Jauan Jennings. For Joshua King, the emotion was just too much.
Joshua King sunk to his knees saying “oh my God” through what appeared to be tears. His wife, Cristy King, posted the video to Facebook with the note, “Here’s your Saturday entertainment.”
Hours after the game, the video had thousands of shares across the United States. Cristy King said she agrees the game was a heart attack game for sure. She said she is shocked over how many views the video has received.
Cristy King said her husband’s brother passed away many years ago and football is something they bonded over. “He continues to be a huge Vols fan and keeps that bond alive,” she said.
“That pretty much is how we all felt in the inside,” admits Helen Hayes. Others, like Breanna Miller, admitted that is how it sounded at her house. “Don’t feel bad…. I did the same thing,” said Emily Mitchell.
Barbara Pack said Joshua King’s reaction reminded her of Coach Butch Jones, who sunk to his knees in a rare show of emotion after the win. Stephanie Singleton-Davis says “a win is a win… let him celebrate! All us Vols deserve it!”
“They should give you all season tickets for years to come for that reaction,” said Renee Goodman. Christy King said she wouldn’t turn down season tickets, saying “that would be fabulous!”
The excitement over the victory continued across the state. In Murfreesboro, brothers Jace and Jaxon Christman couldn’t contain their excitement as they celebrated the win with their dad.
“You gotta teach them young,” said their mom, Suzanne Christman.
