NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The residents of the Nashville Zoo celebrated the first day of October Saturday with some Halloween-themed treats.
The enrichment treats are designed to help the animals grow and learn.
Pumpkins were given to the Siamang monkeys and meerkats while the clouded leopard enjoyed a bloody popsicle shaped like a severed hand.
“Pumpkins all day, every day. All of our animals love to destroy them, eat them, do whatever they can with them and have a good time,” said Nashville Zoo ambassador animal keeper Jake Belair.
The zoo is decked out in fall decorations for its popular, annual Boo at the Zoo event.
Boo at the Zoo is 10 nights of Halloween fun over the month of October where families can trick-or-treat while enjoying hayrides and the animals at the Nashville Zoo.
