LEBANON, Tenn. (WKRN) – A mother was arrested and charged after Lebanon police say she left her young kids in the car while she went drinking.

According to a news release, it happened around 10:30 p.m. Friday at Jimmy’s Bar and Grill located at 1310 Sparta Pike.

An officer reportedly found three children, ages six, five and 10 months, alone in a car.

Authorities say their mother, 31-year-old Maria Cavalier, was inside the bar at the time. She reportedly admitted to leaving her children in the car unattended and to drinking while she was inside Jimmy’s Bar and Grill.

Cavalier was arrested and charged with child neglect and abuse, as well as public intoxication.

Her three children were not harmed and have since been released to their father.
