Murder suspect arrested in Memphis for shooting in Nashville parking lot

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN)- A man was arrested Tuesday for the shooting death of a Murfreesboro man in a downtown Nashville parking lot.

The U.S. Marshal’s West Tennessee Fugitive Task Force arrested William Cochran, 29, in Memphis for the fatal shooting of his friend Jason McGill.

McGill’s body was found dead in his Audi sedan parked near Sixth Avenue South and Mulberry Street on June 29.

Investigators believe Cochran shot McGill after McGill drove him to Nashville to catch a Greyhound bus.

Cochran is currently in the Shelby County jail and will soon be extradited to Nashville.
