NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man is behind bars for allegedly snatching items from cars at an upscale condo.

James Hudson, 58, admitted to Metro police that he stole from multiple vehicles parked at the University Square Condominiums on 19th Avenue South near Music Row.

Security officers said they watched him pulling on door handles, apparently looking for easy targets.

When Metro police caught up with Hudson he was carrying jewelry and cash.

He told authorities he did it because he needs money for detox, food and gas.
Hudson is charged with felony burglary and attempted burglary.

He is being held on a $20,000 bond.
