SMYRNA, Tenn. (WKRN) – A 29-year-old man was killed in a crash on Sam Ridley Parkway in Smyrna Wednesday morning.
It happened just after 9 a.m. between Nolan Drive and the bridge over Lowry Street.
According to police, the preliminary investigation shows that Daniel Stephens was driving a Suzuki Forenza when he crossed over from the westbound lanes of Sam Ridley Parkway and entered the eastbound lanes directly in front of a tractor-trailer.
Police have not yet determined what caused Stephens’ vehicle to enter the eastbound lanes of traffic.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.
The investigation is ongoing.
Sam Ridley Parkway was closed for several hours. The roadway reopened around 1 p.m.
