HICKMAN COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) – The Tennessee Highway Patrol says a wrong-way crash has closed the interstate Hickman County.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the crash happened just before 2 a.m. when a car traveling west in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 crashed into another car near the 159 mile marker. Two commercial vehicles and another passenger vehicle were also involved in the crash.
Both commercial vehicles, one hauling produce and the other hauling clothes, caught on fire.
The eastbound lanes of the interstate are closed at the Buffalo exit at mile marker 143 where traffic is being diverted.
Three people were transported to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
The road could be closed until 4 p.m. according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation.
