Man stabbed in head south of downtown Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man is recovering from a stab wound after a violent fight early Saturday morning south of downtown Nashville.

Metro police said two men began arguing outside of the Lee Motel on Murfreesboro Road around 3 a.m. when one of them pulled out a knife.

A crime scene was set up in the parking lot but police told News 2 they have not been able to find the weapon in the incident.

A 47-year-old man was stabbed in the head with a knife by the suspect.

Police told News 2 the man was alive and alert when he left the scene and was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Witnesses told police the suspect fled in a gray Honda.
