GALLATIN, Tenn. (WKRN) – Emergency responders and police swarmed Triple Creek Park in Gallatin on Saturday.

They weren’t there for an emergency or disaster. It was just the Sumner County Sheriff’s Second Annual Safety Day.

Police and fire agencies from across the county spent the day educating kids about fires, distracted driving, seat belt usage and much more.

Children and parents also had a chance to see what officers do daily, including a peek inside Gallatin’s armored swat truck and a Tennessee Highway Patrol helicopter.

Booths included games, rides, and giveaways.

About 700 people attended the Safety Day event.
