Gas station employees thwart attempted armed robbery in south Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Metro police are investigating an attempted armed robbery at a south Nashville gas station early Thursday morning.

It happened at the M Market on Thompson Lane, not far from the Nolensville Pike intersection, around 12:30 a.m.

Metro police told News 2 the gunman entered the store and told everyone to get on the ground.

There were three customers and two employees inside the store at the time.

The suspect demanded the employees let him into a bullet-proof enclosure where the register is, but the employees refused, according to police.

Police said he then fled the store empty-handed. No one was injured.

The man was described as wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, a black mask and blue gloves.

No additional information was immediately released.
