KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) – Following many requests, Checker Neyland is back for Tennessee’s game against Florida.

The first Checker Neyland was designed by a group of fans when the Volunteers played Florida in 2014. Fans can visit CheckerNeyland.com, enter their seat and row and the website will tell fans what color to wear on game day.

Tennessee Athletics decided to bring back Checker Neyland for Tennessee’s game against Oklahoma in 2015. During that game, Tennessee fans set a record for the loudest decibel level ever recorded at Neyland Stadium at 114 decibels. Now, organizers are hoping fans can help Tennessee win against the Gators for the first time in more than a decade.

“There is no doubt that Tennessee fans are the most passionate and loyal fans in college sports. We can’t put points on the board, but we will always support our Vols like no other fan base, and this is why Neyland Stadium is the most electric game-day atmosphere in football. #CheckerNeyland is just one of the many ways we can show our support, and we will do that once again on 9-24-16,” said organizers.

This year, organizers reversed the colors of Checker Neyland, so they say it is important to check and double-check your color and your friend’s color.
