1 charged after man found severely beaten in Murfreesboro dies

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man found severely beaten in Murfreesboro over the weekend has died and a 39-year-old man is now charged with aggravated assault.

Police were called to the 2800 block of South Church Street around 1 a.m. Sunday to assist Rutherford County EMS with a medical situation.

Upon their arrival, officers discovered Kaithong Keomek unconscious and bleeding.

Keomek was taken to Saint Thomas Rutherford before being transferred to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

During the investigation, detectives said they believe Keomek was involved in an argument with Anousack Imanivong when he was severely beaten.

Keomek died on Monday afternoon.

Imanivong is charged with aggravated assault and was booked on a $250,000 bond.

Charges are likely to be increased, police said.
