Police investigating armed robberies of 2 Clarksville businesses

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Police are investigating after two Clarksville businesses were robbed at gunpoint within a few hours.

The first armed robbery occurred at the Dollar General on Edmondson Ferry Road around 8:45 p.m. Saturday night.

Clarksville police reported the suspect came into the store with a “long gun” and took cash from two registers.

The second robbery happened at the Kangaroo Express on Memorial Driver around 3:15 a.m. Sunday morning.

Witnesses told Clarksville police the suspect entered the gas station with a rifle and took money from the register.

In both instances, the suspect was described as a black man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a towel partially covering his face.
