GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A woman was arrested for child neglect after officers were called to her Goodlettsville apartment on a report she was passed out in a vehicle with two minor children inside.

Police reported 28-year-old Brittany Johnson was found passed out by police along with an unidentified man in a running vehicle at the Centennial Crossing apartments on Lenox Place.

According to an affidavit, officers attempted to wake Johnson and the man but were unsuccessful.

Eventually officers were reportedly able to wake the man, who then woke up Johnson.

Officers asked Johnson if two children were supposed to be in the vehicle and she said “yes,” which is when police informed her they were not inside the car, according to police.

Johnson allegedly told officers she lived in an upstairs apartment, which is where the children, ages 5 and 11, were reportedly found.

Police reported it is unknown how long Johnson and the man were passed out in the vehicle but did note it took 15 to 20 minutes for police to respond to the scene.

The Department of Children’s Services was notified and Johnson was booked into the Metro jail on two counts of child neglect. Her bond was set at $10,000.
