NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Politics meets fashion for a special fundraiser this weekend.

The goal is to put the United States and Tennessee Constitution in the hands of 70,000 Tennessee eighth graders.

The non-profit group The 917 Society and The Constitution Project are hosting a fashion show featuring local celebrities on Saturday.

“The new collection that you will see is long evening gowns, a lot of beads, a lot of colors,” said fashion designer Ola Hawatmeh.

They event will raise money to finish an interactive educational video for students about the Constitution moderated by journalist Nick Clooney, actor George Clooney’s father.

State Sen. Kerry Roberts organized the fundraiser, and Friday he told News 2 why this is an effort so many people are behind.

“One thing we discovered is that there is a lot of bipartisan support for that. Whether people are on the left or on the right, they can all agree that the Constitution is something that our young people need to know,” said Sen. Kerry Roberts.

Tickets are $25. Click here for more information.
