MARYVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) – A 14-year-old boy is in custody after the Blount County Sheriff’s Office said he was involved in the distribution of pills at Eagleton Middle School.

The eighth grader, who also attends the middle school, was charged with possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance with intent to distribute, reckless endangerment, and criminal conspiracy.

Four Blount County middle schoolers were sent to the hospital Tuesday after ingesting unidentified pills brought to school by another student.

The four have since been released from the hospital.

The Blount County Sheriff’s Office and Blount County Schools are both investigating. Eagleton Middle serves students in sixth through eighth grades.
