2 wanted after elderly woman’s purse stolen from shopping cart

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Metro police is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man and woman who stole an elderly woman’s purse from a shopping cart.

It happened last Thursday in the parking lot of the Aldi located at 3758 Nolensville Pike.

According to a release from Metro police, the 88-year-old victim was loading groceries in her car when a black four-door Nissan Sentra pulled up behind her.

A woman got out of the passenger side and told the victim her car door was open.

As she began to walk around her car to check her door, the woman grabbed the elderly victim’s purse.

The victim fell and hurt her knee and elbow as she tried to get her purse back.

The suspects fled in the Nissan.

Anyone with information on the suspects’ identities or whereabouts is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 615-74-CRIME.

Callers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
