Man, woman injured in north Nashville shooting

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man and a woman were shot in north Nashville Thursday night.

It happened around 8 p.m. at a home in the 1400 block of Wheless Street and 16th Avenue North.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found a man with a gunshot wound to the leg and buttocks and a woman who was shot in the leg.

Metro police told News 2 the gunman was inside the home, but it is unclear if the shooter broke in or knew the victims.

The victims, who called for help themselves, were transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in stable condition.

According to Metro police, the gunman fled on foot down a nearby alley.

No other details were immediately released.
