Williamson County offers free self-defense classes to women

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) – The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, alongside Williamson County Parks and Rec., are offering free self-defense classes for women next month.

The four-week session begins on Oct. 17 at the Public Safety Center located at 304 Beasley Drive and will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Participants must be at least 15 years old. Students ages 15 to 17 must have a signed release from their parents.

The class will focus on helping women reduce the risk of becoming a victim of sexual assault and teach the necessary techniques for self-defense.
