NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Bristol is billed as the birthplace of country music, so it’s only fitting that one of the biggest entertainers in the industry will step on the stage to headline a sold-out concert at college football’s biggest tailgate party.
Kenny Chesney last performed in East Tennessee in 2003.
But in two days, he will headline a three-act concert with a crowd capacity nearly totaling the population of the city of Bristol.
The 140-foot wide stage for Bristol’s tailgate party will also welcome hometown favorites and Grammy-Award winning superstar sibling trio, The Band Perry.
Topping off the tailgate ticket is Old Dominion.
The concert kicks off the night before the Vols and Hokies face off on the field.
News 2 will broadcast the Battle at Bristol game Saturday, Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. CST. Click here for full coverage of the Battle at Bristol.
