JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) – A University of Tennessee graduate created a special poster for the Battle at Bristol.

Illustrator Danny Wilson came up with the idea to make a commemorative poster last year as a way to celebrate the big game and rivalry between Virginia Tech and the University of Tennessee. Wilson is originally from Elizabethton and now live in Knoxville.

“I just wanted to produce a poster that would represent both fan bases and you know not make it one over the other but just to commemorate this historic event,” Wilson said.

Wilson says it took about two weeks to draw the painting on that poster. He will be selling and signing posters on State Street Thursday and Friday ahead of the big game. They will also be available online.

News 2 will air a Battle at Bristol special Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m. The game will broadcast Saturday, Sept. 10 on WKRN at 7 p.m. CST.
