NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A 23-year-old man was shot while walking down Broadway in downtown Nashville Saturday night.

It happened at the intersection of Second Avenue North and Broadway around 10 p.m.

Metro police told News 2 Kyle Freeman, of Smyrna, was walking with his girlfriend when he felt the gunshot strike him in the back near his shoulder.

He continued walking to the next block before he and his friends stopped and notified police of what happened.

Freeman was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries from what appeared to be a small caliber round.

Metro police say no one saw where the shot came from. Detectives are reviewing area surveillance video to learn more.

In July, a man was also struck in the shoulder by a stray bullet while walking on Broadway.
