Man dies after shooting in Waffle House parking lot

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Metro police are investigating after a man was shot and killed in a west Nashville parking lot early Sunday morning.

It happened at the Waffle House located at 408 White Bridge Place around 2:30 a.m.

Metro police say the victim, 36-year-old Robert Saine, and a female friend arrived at the restaurant in separate cars.

The woman went inside to order while Saine waited in his car.

Words were reportedly exchanged between the woman and three to four men who were on the property. When Saine got involved, an argument ensued with one of them, and shots were fired.

Saine suffered a gunshot wound to his chest. He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.

Authorities say the gunman fled in a small blue four-door car. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-74-CRIME.
