Police investigating Cookeville bank robbery

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Police are investigating after a Cookeville bank was robbed Monday afternoon.

The robbery happened at the American Bank and Trust on Neal Street around 12:30 p.m.

Cookeville police reported a man entered the bank and handed a note to the teller demanding money and indicating he was armed with a weapon.

The suspect fled the bank, possibly in a blue Honda, with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The man was last seen wearing blue pants, a blue or gray T-shirt with a duck emblem on  the front, a green reflective raincoat, blue Nike tennis shoes and a blue hard hat.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is assisting Cookeville police with the investigation.
