NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man and woman were robbed Wednesday morning while walking on South 10th Street in East Nashville.
Metro police say convicted felon Shawn Summers, 36, has since been arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated robbery.
It happened at 1:20 p.m. when authorities say Summers approached the couple, showed a pistol, and demanded their belongings.
He reportedly ran off after getting the woman’s purse and man’s wallet but was taken into custody quickly nearby on South Seventh Street.
According to Metro police, Summers, of Shute Lane, was positively identified as the robber. A handgun was recovered from his back pants pocket.
Summers is charged with two counts of aggravated robbery and felon in possession of a handgun.
He has previous convictions for aggravated burglary, assault, theft, and cocaine possession, and is being held in lieu of $100,000 bond.
