NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Metro police are investigating a possible home invasion on Southgate Avenue Monday.
Authorities say several homes and cars were broken into and the suspect may be armed with a gun.
The suspect stole several items, along with a phone. Officers attempted to track the phone, but the suspect left it behind as he moved on.
An officer thought he spotted the suspect around Third Avenue and Hart Street, and canine officers were called in, along with a helicopter, to aid the search.
At least one school was put on lock down as a precaution during the search.
After about 30 minutes, the officers called off the search.
The suspect is described as a black male with a fade type haircut with a mohawk. Police said he is around 5 feet 8 inches tall and was last seen wearing a white V-neck T-shirt with black skinny jeans and black shoes.
