Man found shot to death on north Nashville sidewalk

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man was found shot to death on a north Nashville sidewalk early Sunday morning.

Authorities used fingerprints to identify the victim as 24-year-old Victor Connor.

A citizen spotted Connor’s body near the intersection of Cockrill Street and 11th Avenue North around 5 a.m.

Initially, Metro police believed he was stabbed to death until investigators discovered he died from a gunshot wound.

Residents say they heard what sounded like gunshots between Midnight and 12:30 a.m.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.

There was also violence in this same area last week. On Thursday morning, a man showed up at Metro General Hospital with a gunshot wound and told Metro police he was shot during an argument with two people on Cockrill Street.

Additionally, a man was shot in the lower leg on 16th Avenue North near Cockrill Street on Friday morning.
