NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A suspect was struck by a Metro police officer’s patrol car after fleeing from a traffic stop in Hermitage Wednesday morning.
It happened in the 4000 block of Lebanon Pike around 4 a.m.
After initialing a traffic stop on a vehicle containing three occupants, one of the suspects ran from officers, according to police.
Officers followed the suspect in two patrol cars. When one officer parked to get out and catch the suspect, the suspect ran behind the patrol car and was struck by the second cruiser, authorities said.
The suspect was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.
The two others in the vehicle did not flee and were questioned by officers.
No additional information was immediately released.
