Man wanted in strong arm robbery of Clarksville food mart

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Clarksville police are working to identify the man who committed a strong arm robbery on Tuesday.

The man was caught on surveillance entering the Quick Stop Food Mart on 531 North Second Street at 9:38 p.m.

Police say he went to pay for an item and jumped over the counter, grabbing money out of the register while the clerk had the drawer open.

A struggle ensued between the suspect and clerk, who was able to recover the money, according to a press release. The suspect got away with only his purchased item.

He is described as a black male about 5 feet 4 inches tall. He was wearing a white shirt, white and black shorts, white shoes, and black-framed glasses.

Detective Brittany Feinberg is trying to identify a suspect involved in a Strong-armed Robbery that took place at Quick Stop Food Mart on 531 N Second St and is requesting public assistance. On 08/16/2016 at 9:38 pm, when the adult male suspect went to pay for an item at the business, he jumped over the counter and grabbed money out of the register while the clerk had the drawer open. A struggle ensued between the suspect and the clerk over the money taken from the register. The clerk was able to recover the money, and the suspect fled only with his purchased item.
