NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A Nashville man shocked his girlfriend at the Sounds baseball game Saturday night with an unexpected marriage proposal.
Scott Zuckerman surprised Autumn Bagwell, who was told she would be throwing out the first pitch of the game.
Bagwell, a Nashville pharmacist, said Sounds officials approached her before the game, seemingly at random.
“They came and talked to me and said they pick people in [the section where I was sitting]. I totally believed it,” she said.
Zuckerman, a physician, has been living in Houston temporarily while he completes additional training. Bagwell assumed he was in Texas Saturday.
“I thought he was in Houston on call. I even sent him lunch, because I felt bad,” she told News 2.
The Sounds mascot, Booster, walked her out to the pitcher’s mound, and she threw the pitch to who she thought was the Sounds’ catcher.
As she started to walk back to her seat, the masked catcher approached her and then removed his mask. It was Zuckerman.
He then got down on one knee and proposed and Bagwell accepted.
She said it was the “absolute best night of my life.”
