GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – State and city leaders will all celebrate the opening of a new Goodlettsville school Tuesday afternoon.

Congressman Jim Cooper, Nashville Mayor Megan Barry, Goodlettsville Mayor John Coombs and Metro Director of Schools Dr. Shawn Joseph will cut the ribbon at Goodlettsville Middle Prep Tuesday at 1 p.m.

The school features an open concept library and media center, science laboratories and shared study spaces that overlook the new campus.

In a nod to its past, the new building will prominently display the logo from the old gymnasium floor.
