WARNER ROBINS, Ga. (WKRN) – After a nail-biting victory for the Goodlettsville All-Stars in Georgia on Monday against West Virginia, Coach Joey Hale was thinking of making a pitching change.
We don’t always know what goes on in those conversations on the mound, but Coach Hale told News 2 what happened during one time out in the final innings of the game.
“Well I walked out–actually I turned back and looked at Kip, and I was like, ;Should I or should I not take Robert out of the game?’ Because of the situation, we were playing terrible. That was our worst game since we’ve been together as a team,” Hale explained.
He continued, “And I wasn’t sure what we were going to do the next inning against them. So I literally went to the mound and had no idea what I was going to do. I was just going to make it on the fly. And like I said, Tanner Jones, the first one to pipe in and said, ‘Coach, leave him in the game. ‘We’re going to win.’”
“And all of them said the same thing. They said, ‘We’re winning this game and leave Robert in,’” Hale concluded.
