Brett Martin is an Emmy-award winning journalist excited about returning to the Volunteer State after uncovering news from the west coast to the Midwest.
While working throughout Missouri, Brett covered everything from the aftermath of the Ferguson riots across the state to the growing opiate epidemic in the Ozarks. In 2015, Brett was awarded the Midwest EMMY for Team Coverage for a series on race relations in Missouri.
Brett also covered the out of control homeless problem in Springfield, Missouri by going inside the day to day life of someone struggling on the streets. While working along the James and White rivers in southwest Missouri, Brett learned a great deal about environmental regulations from the local level all the way to Washington D.C.
Before making his way to the Show-Me State, Brett helped relaunch a morning show that stretched from San Jose to Santa Barbara, California. He reported on the alarming gun and gang violence through the Salinas Valley to the booming wine business in the Carmel Valley.
Brett is no stranger to Tennessee. He grew up in Memphis and graduated from the University of Memphis. When he is not digging for the next story, Brett enjoys spending time on the golf course or with his two black Labradors.
Every day, Brett is aspiring to be the best journalist he can because he knows everyone deserves to have their voice heard. If you have a story or just want to say hello, reach out to Brett on Facebook and Twitter.
