MILLERSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A jackknifed tractor-trailer slowed rush-hour traffic Tuesday morning on a busy stretch of interstate.
Police and medics were called to the crash scene near mile marker 101 on southbound Interstate 65 just after 5 a.m.
Investigators say the truck swerved into the center median and back across southbound lanes, jackknifing in the wooded area just west of the roadway.
No injuries were reported and there was nothing hazardous inside the trailer, according to officials.
Emergency workers closed all but one lane of southbound Interstate 65 headed into Nashville at 5:30 a.m.
Both lanes opened back up around 6 a.m. but significant backups lingered. Crews told News 2 the truck wouldn’t be moved until at least 9 a.m.
Authorities told News 2 the truck had matched the description of a reckless driver spotted earlier Tuesday morning.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol was asked to inspect the truck.
