Mt. Juliet PD to escort Navy veteran from Nashville airport to funeral home

MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) – The Mt. Juliet Police Department honored a Navy veteran with a police escort Tuesday evening.

Petty Officer 3rd Class Benjamin Torrence’s body was brought from the Nashville International Airport to Sellars Funeral Home.

The public was invited to line North Mt. Juliet Road with flags to show their support.

The escort was provided by members of the U.S. Navy, the American Legion and Mt. Juliet police.

According to Sellars Funeral Home, Torrence, 25, died on July 26. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet.

A graveside service will be held for him on Wednesday at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Nashville at 11 a.m.
