Knoxville police cruisers collide while responding to shooting

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Two Knoxville police officers were injured when their cruisers collided Monday night while responding to a shooting call.

According to a post on the Knoxville Police Department’s Facebook page, officers Jordan Henderson and Zach Wilson were traveling to a shooting scene on the southwest side of Knoxville when they collided at the intersection of Chapman Highway and Moody Avenue just before 11:30 p.m.

Both officers were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Medics and other officers responded to the shooting scene, and took 26-year-old Daniel Wells to the hospital with a life-threatening injury.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing. No arrests have been made.
