NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Southwest Airlines experienced nationwide issues with their technology systems on Wednesday.
The issues were the result of an outage, the company said online, that led to flight delays and a ground stop for planes that hadn’t left their gate.
Southwest.com was also affected, giving many customers an error page that read, “We’re working hard to get you where you want to be.”
Southwest announced the problem just before 2 p.m., and it was two hours before some systems began functioning again.
News 2 was at the airport when passengers were finally able to print boarding passes as the computer systems slowly came back online.
“It’s very frustrating. We drove 10 and a half hours to get her to the airport on time and the computers have been down for an hour since before we got here, and now they’re saying they’re slowly coming back up,” said traveler Sarah Denton.
