CINCINNATI (AP) — Police say a 5-year-old boy had died after being shot in the head in his Cincinnati home.

The child was with his 11-year-old brother on the second floor when the incident happened just after noon on Saturday.

Police tell The Cincinnati Enquirer the older brother brought the boy downstairs to his mother, who called 911. The child was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

His name hasn’t been released. An investigation is continuing.

The shooting happened in the city’s Madisonville neighborhood and was the second this week involving a young child.

Police say a man and a 2-year-old child were shot and wounded as the man was placing the child in a vehicle Wednesday night. Thirty-five-year-old Ernest Cephas has been arrested on charges of felonious assault.
