BERKELEY (KRON) — A missing university student studying abroad in France during the deadly attack in Nice, France has been confirmed dead.
Nicolas Leslie, 20, was a student at University of California Berkeley and he was among the 84 people who died during a terrorist attack in France. A man drove a truck onto the Promenade des Anglais running over several people.
According to the university’s public affairs, Leslie’s death was confirmed by the FBI.
Leslie was in a local entrepreneurship program for the summer in Nice, France. He was an environmental science major planning to study at the Haas School of Business in the fall.
School officials said three other students were injured during the deadly attack.
Memorial services are expected to be announced shortly, and a vigil is planned at 4:30 p.m. Monday at Sproul Plaza on the campus.
