According to police, Sunny Talia Giordano was stabbed by 22-year-old Ben Bolton inside a second floor room.

Metro police report that while driving through the motel parking lot on routine patrol, an officer noticed a blue Crown Victoria  had been left running near a staircase.

The officer saw Bolton walking in the direction of the car from a second floor walkway and started a conversation with him.

Bolton appeared agitated and told the officer that a woman had been stabbed inside his room.

The officer went to the room and discovered Giordano wrapped in a blanket.

She appeared to have suffered a stab wound to her throat.

During an interview with detectives, Bolton claimed that an unidentified man was responsible for the stabbing but motel surveillance video did not corroborate that claim.

Metro police said Bolton admitted to manipulating multiple pieces of evidence, including placing the woman in a bathtub and wrapping her in bedsheets and blankets.

He is being held in lieu of $500,000 bond and is charged with criminal homicide and evidence tampering.

Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-74-CRIME.
