ANTIOCH, Tenn. (WKRN) – Bridgestone announced its plans Wednesday to open a second office space in Nashville.

The company’s IT and customer service center will be housed on the second level of the former Sears store at Global Mall, formerly Hickory Hollow.

The new location is expected to hold around 450 employees.

“We are excited to see Bridgestone’s continued investment in Nashville spreading throughout Davidson County, now in Southeast Nashville where we are making significant investments in schools, parks, and other infrastructure to ensure a great quality of life,” said Mayor Megan Barry. “This announcement is a great example of how economic investments benefit the entire community in the long run, creating more jobs and opportunities for residents of our city.”

The city has been trying to revitalize the area by opening a library and the Ford Ice Center.

In addition to the newly announced office space, Bridgestone is also building a new headquarters that is currently under construction at Fourth Avenue South and Demonbreun Street. That project is expected to be done next summer.
