MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN)- A rally promoting the right to bear arms was held in Mt. Juliet Saturday.

The event, called The Second Amendment IS Homeland, took place at the Charlie Daniels Park.

Gun rights activists gave speeches where they discussed how the Second Amendment can help protect Americans from terrorists in the US.

“A gun in the hands of a responsible person licensed to carry it can be the third line of defense that this country needs against ISIS inspired or trained terrorists,” explained Ralph Bristol, the show organizer.

An A-15 giveaway was also held during the rally. It was sponsored by Joe Carr, who is running for Congress.

Names were entered for the drawing on his campaign website.
