Pedestrian struck by hit-and-run driver in Midtown

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man was injured when he was struck by a hit-and-run driver in Midtown early Saturday morning.

It happened in the 1500 block of Church Street near Play Dance Bar around 1 a.m.

Metro police told News 2 witnesses reported the man was crossing the street outside of a crosswalk when he was hit by a white sedan, possibly a Kia Optima.

After the crash, the car fled the scene without stopping.

The man was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

No additional information was released.
