Name of TDOT worker killed on side of I-40 added to memorial statue

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Tennessee Department of Transportation added the name of a TDOT supervisor killed while working to its memorial statue Thursday.

David Younger was killed on April 28 when he and his crew stopped on the shoulder of I-40 in Hickman County to change a flat tire.

A tractor trailer struck one of parked TDOT vehicles, killing Younger and injuring three other employees.

Younger’s wife unveiled his name on the memorial statue at the I-40 welcome center in Smith County at 2 p.m.
