Driver ejected during crash on I-24 west in Rutherford County

RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — A driver was ejected from his vehicle and flown to a local hospital by rescue crews following a crash on Interstate 24 Wednesday.

Tennessee Highway Patrol Sgt. Travis Plotzer told News 2 the crash involved two commercial vehicles.

I-24 westbound lanes are open but emergency equipment and first responders are on the shoulder of the road.

Authorities at the scene say the ejected driver was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
