2 hit by car while working on broken down trailer

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Two people who were working on a broken down trailer were struck by a car Wednesday night.

It happened at Donelson Pike at Shacklett Drive around 7 p.m.

According to police, the driver who struck the pair initially fled the scene but was taken into custody without incident about a mile away from where the accident occurred.

The driver, whose identity was not immediately released, was transported to Metro General Hospital.

The victims were transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Their conditions were not immediately released.

It is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.
