NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Saint Thomas Health is partnering with Kroger on Friday to offer free mammograms to women without health insurance.

The mobile mammography unit will be set up at the Germantown Kroger located north of downtown.

“We go to medial missions, we go to clinics, we go to doctor’s office, community events, go to places of employment and that’s been very popular because a lot of women can’t take off work to have a mammogram had we not come to their place of employment and we’ve even had a couple of women who had no intention of having a mammogram but said, ‘here it is at my job,’ so they had their mammogram and we have found cancer in women by coming to their place of employment,” said Laura Patterson with St. Thomas Mobile Mammography.

The mobile mammography unit will be at the Kroger on Monroe Street from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
