GALLATIN, Tenn. (WKRN) – A Gallatin motorcycle club is lending a helping hand to a baby who needs life-saving surgery.
They’re holding “The Ella Ride for Killian” on Saturday, June 18.
Riders will take a scenic ride through Hendersonville, White House, Portland, Westmoreland and Gallatin.
Proceeds from the event will benefit 6-month-old Killian Johnson, who has a rare heart defect.
“Basically, his bottom two pumping chambers are reversed, and his top great arteries are reversed,” his mother, Abby, told News 2.
Kilian’s parents are working with Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital to coordinate open heart surgery at Boston’s Children’s Hospital.
He will have to undergo several surgeries, so the family needs help with medical bills and the hospital stay.
The Gallatin club hopes to take some of the burden off them with Saturday’s ride.
“It means everything to us, because we can’t get by without a little bit of help,” explained Abby.
Registration for the ride starts at 11 a.m. For more information on the event, click here.
