NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man and woman are recovering after they were attacked with a broomstick outside a bar on Lower Broad early Friday morning.
It happened outside an unknown bar around 3 a.m.
The victims told police they were involved in a dispute with another patron before leaving the bar.
After they left the business, they sat on a nearby bench when they were both reportedly hit in the head by the suspect with a broomstick.
The man ran down Fourth Avenue toward the Schermerhorn Symphony Center where he told a bystander he had been shot.
The man was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries.
The woman received minor injuries and refused medical attention.
The suspect was described as a white man with average build and height.
Officers are checking surveillance footage for evidence.
